Your family’s photos, finally in order.
iScanPhotoApp looks through your photo folders, groups the faces it finds and asks who they are. Name someone once and it finds them across 50,000 photos and more. Here’s a tour.
- Free for 30 days
- No account
- Never changes your originals

Name a face once
iScanPhotoApp groups faces that look like the same person and asks, “Who is this?” Name the group, and every face in it is named. From then on it suggests the name in your other photos, even as children grow up. Pets too.
- You always confirm: nothing is named behind your back
- Reads names already tagged in Picasa, Lightroom and Windows Photo Gallery

Every photo of Mom, in one click
Each person gets their own page with every photo they’re in, from baby pictures to last Christmas. Find the photos two people are in together, or three generations at once.

“Emma and Liam at the beach last summer”
Type what you remember: a person, a place, a year, or what’s in the picture. Undated scans are fine too: “about 1975” or “the 1960s” work, and it can estimate a date from how old people look.

Scan right in the app
No separate scanning program. Lay several prints on your scanner: each becomes its own cropped, straightened photo, dated and in its album before you’ve put the next batch on the glass.
- Works with most flatbed scanners and all-in-one printers
- Keeps the back of each print, and the handwriting on it
- Letters, certificates and recipes become searchable PDFs
- No scanner? Take a picture with your phone

Restore faded and scratched photos
Remove dust and scratches, bring back faded colors, add color to black-and-white, sharpen and enlarge. Add a caption, write down where the original is kept, and record the story behind it in their own voice.
Every fix is saved as a new copy next to the original.

A family tree with faces
See everyone in a family tree with their photo, click anyone to find their pictures, and see how people are related. Bring in a tree from Ancestry or FamilySearch (a GEDCOM file), or start one from the people you’ve named.

Your world on a map
Every photo with a location on a map that works offline, with town names. Browse by year and month on the timeline, and find duplicates you can safely clear away.

Albums, slideshows and prints
Make albums for the reunion or the grandkids, organize them into boxes, play a slideshow, print a photo, or copy a set to a USB stick to send.

Phone backup over Wi-Fi, and family PCs in sync
Scan a code with your phone and send its photos straight to your PC: nothing to install on the phone. With the Family license, names, dates and albums stay in sync between your household’s computers over your home network.

Backups and keepsakes
Back up to a USB drive or external disk in one click, with all the names and stories. iScanPhotoApp quietly checks your files for damage, and every backup can be read without the app. Make a keepsake copy the family can open in any web browser.

Private by design
Face recognition is powerful, so we built it to stay with you.
- Everything runs on your PC. No account, no cloud, no uploading, works offline.
- Asks before recognizing faces. Turn it off, or delete all face data, any time.
- Never changes, moves or deletes your original photos.
- No ads, no tracking. Problem reports are only sent if you choose to send them.
Try it free for 30 days
Everything works during the trial. After that, your library stays yours to look through, search and export; a license keeps it growing.
Windows 10 (October 2018 update or later) or Windows 11, 64-bit. A graphics card is optional and speeds things up. Rather have us scan and organize it all for you? See the scanning service.
Questions
Do my photos get uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything happens on your computer. The only time anything leaves it is when you choose to: sending photos from your phone to your PC, syncing with a family member’s PC on your home network, or sending us a problem report.
Will it change or move my files?
Never. It only reads them. Names, dates and albums live in its own catalog, and restored photos are saved as new files.
What happens after the 30-day trial?
Your library stays: you can still look through it, search it and export photos. Adding new photos and editing need a license.
Which scanners work?
Most flatbed scanners and all-in-one printers that Windows can scan with (if Windows Fax and Scan sees it, iScanPhotoApp will too), plus scanners with a TWAIN driver. No scanner? Your phone’s camera works too.
Is there a Mac version?
Not yet. Email support@iscanphoto.com and we’ll let you know when there is.
